LOS ANGELES - When Pau Gasol first felt his right hamstring tighten up during practice three weeks ago, he assumed the injury was so inconsequential that he didn't bother to sit out the rest of the session.

Little did he know Halloween would come and go without him returning to the floor.

Gasol missed his third straight regular season game on Sunday night, a streak that doesn't seem likely to end anytime soon. He will travel with the Lakers to Oklahoma City and Houston this week to receive treatment, but neither he nor Phil Jackson is optimistic he'll play in either of those games.

"Obviously the injury definitely is not going away, so it's kind of telling you the level of gravity," Gasol said. "We didn't anticipate it was going to be that way, but that's how it's turned out. It was hard for a few days, but I've accepted it and now I'm doing what it takes to get back."
